Can I use AAA Li-ION USB-C cells in my handset?

We have recently been receiving enquiries about the use of AAA Li-Ion batteries in our handsets.

We strongly advise against the use of such batteries. Our handsets are designed for use with NiMh batteries. This applies to both operation and recharging.

The charging electronics are not designed for Li-Ion batteries. The use of such batteries can lead to damage to the device that is not covered by the warranty.

We are also unable to make any statement about how such batteries behave and react in our device.

Please only use original batteries or AAA NiMH batteries with a voltage of 1.2 volts and a capacity of up to 800 mAh.
